‘In this short life that lasts only an hour’

In this short Life that only lasts an hour (1292)

BY EMILY DICKINSON

In this short Life that only lasts an hour

How much – how little – is within our power

This poem speaks to me of both the power and potential of the human life that we must carefully balance with our limitations and therefore the need for humility.
What does it mean to you? Where could you realise more of your potential? What do you need to let go of?
